About us

Breast Cancer Support

UK charity providing care, and helping people with breast cancer in poverty stricken countries who can’t afford medication or treatment.

We believe that where people live with breast cancer be it a woman or a man shouldn’t determine if they live. So we’re fighting breast cancer in countries across the globe to reduce breast cancer mortality worldwide.
Supported by doctors, dentists and other medical professionals, BCS aims to alleviate pain and discomfort around the world through making medicine, medical expertise and medical equipment readily available to those living in poverty stricken countries and communities.
We do not regard medicine and the ability to see a medical professional in your hour of need as a privilege but a basic human right every man, woman and child should have regardless of their geographical location, race, age, creed, background or any other factor.

What We Do

At Breast Cancer Support, our mission is straight forward: to save lives and end breast cancer forever in women and men. We do this through education, treatment, emotional assistance and financial support.

Where We Work

At Breast Cancer Support, we believe it takes collaboration and strong partnerships to make a global impact. We try to deliver our own projects by hiring professionals from within their country. However if that is not possible for a number of reasons we then build a partnership with international nonprofits, corporations and Ministries of Health to deliver the projects.

We are able to develop programs that are sensitive to cultural differences and tailored to the specific needs of the community. Breast Cancer Support only works within Africa, Asia, Middle East and Europe.

Mammograms

A mammogram is an X-Ray of the breast. In breast screening, 4 X-Rays are taken (2 of each breast) and a radiographer will position you in the mammography machine to get the best images possible. Breast Cancer Support is aware of the different cultures and the sensitivity around breast cancer. We take everything into consideration and get local advice from within the countries we operate.

Education

Breast Cancer Support promote awareness, educate and remind every young person in the UK and in poverty stricken countries that checking their breasts could save their life. We are the first breast cancer charity in the UK to create awareness amongst poverty stricken countires, with the aim of instilling a new healthy habit that could one day save their life.

Support

A diagnosis of breast cancer can be frightening and the treatment gruelling. Surgery, hair loss, radiation, chemotherapy and medication can all take its toll. Medical treatment is necessary but you will need so much more than this. Breast Cancer Support can provide financial and emotional help to you and your family. In the UK there are a number of Cancer support groups and charities, however in other countries these services are non existent. Our trained professional nurses, therapists, counsellors and advisers listen to your individual concerns and give you all the practical, emotional and physical support you need in a tailor-made package.

Early Detection

Too many women, and men, die of breast cancer due to late detection. Finding and treating cancer at an early stage can save lives. Cancer that’s diagnosed at an early stage, before it’s had the chance to get too big or spread is more likely to be treated successfully. If the cancer has spread, treatment becomes more difficult, and generally a person’s chances of surviving are much lower. More than 90% of women diagnosed with breast cancer at the earliest stage survive their disease for at least 5 years compared to around 15% for women diagnosed with the most advanced stage of disease
